How To Get to Casa Serenity By The Sea?
TO GET TO BOCAS DEL TORO: USE AIR PANAMA!!! It will be cheaper! And these days you can get to Bocas in ONE DAY if you PLAN IT CORRECTLY! (You will need to leave early in the am from your US point of origin and then book the latest flight into Bocas del Toro (BOC) in order to achieve this.)
Your first destination in Panama is PTY. PTY (Tocumen International Airport) is Panama City's main and largest airport. You will collect your bags and go through customs here. Then...get a taxi to PAC (Albrook Gelabert Airport) about 30mins away. This is a much smaller airport. The landing strip at BOC (Bocas del Toro Airport) is small, so the planes that land there are smallish too. Have fun landing right by the water!!!
From the Bocas Airport you can either walk to the BASTIMENTOS DOCK, or catch a cab there.
BEFORE LEAVING THE BOCAS AIRPORT, SWITCH INTO YOUR WATER SHOES!! You may want to stop and get cash out at the Bank next to the Airport! The Boat Taxi's are $5 each way and many places on Isla Bastimentos are Cash-Only! After that you are headed to the BASTIMENTOS DOCK. There are various sized markets along the way and some are right across from the docks if you want to get some groceries/provisions, but there are also a few mercados on Basti as well (they are just much smaller). Near the dock lots of people will be asking you if you want to schedule a boat trip or a hundred other things. It's up to you whether or not you want to do this or not. But if you say "maybe later", they will try to schedule that later right then. Be nice! It's their livelihood! Jump in a PANGA BOAT TAXI headed to OLD BANK in BASTIMENTOS, pay your $5, and tell the driver you are headed to the MAIN DOCK "Muella Principal" (about 7mins away).
From the Bastimentos Dock in Bocas Town, it's about a 7min boat ride to the Main Dock in Bastimentos.
You will be on a small boat. Sea spray may get you a little wet. Or it could be fully raining and you can get soaked. Be prepared!
From the Main Dock in Old Bank it's about an 8minute walk to Casa Serenity By The Sea.
From the MAIN DOCK in BASTI, take a Left down the Main Thoroughfare Walking Path towards the point.
Follow the signs.
Following the signs to The Firefly, Bird Song Villa, and Casa Serenity By The Sea, you will Take a Right toward Oceanside on the smaller concrete path before you get to the end of the Main Thoroughfare.
Follow the walking path.
Continue down the smaller path until you reach the water.
Follow the walking path.
Take a RIGHT and continue along the Caribbean Sea. Once you pass The Firefly, it's only two more doors down. You will eventually see the Casa Serenity By The Sea sign notating 50 more meters. The next structure you get to is the "Bamboo Wave" Casa. We are next door directly to the Left. You will see the Surfboard Mandalas in our front yard. If you get to Birdsong Villa/Reggae Bites you've gone too far!
